Serve a creamy, gooey-centered, pastry-wrapped baked brie at your next party and watch your guests pounce on it until it disappears. Skip the fancy brie here; this recipe works best with the regular kind of brie you find at your local grocery store.
Ingredients
- one 6-8 ounce wheel of Brie or Camembert
- 2 oz Fruit Jam (try the Apple Butter Recipe)
- 1 sheet prepared puff pastry – chilled, not frozen
- 1 egg, beaten with a splash of water
Directions
-
Set oven to 400 degrees.
-
Roll the chilled dough to about 1/8” thick and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Place the brie at the center of the dough square and then spread the jam over the top of the cheese.
-
Drape the four corners of the dough, one at a time, across the brie to enclose it. If there is too much overlapping dough, trim the sides before draping. You want the dough just to cover the brie.
-
Brush the egg wash over the brie, making sure it does not pool where it meets the tray, or it will stick.
-
Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 35 to 45 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
-
Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for 8 to 10 minutes before serving warm.

Chef's Tip
Adding nuts to baked brie is more than a garnish — it elevates every bite. The creaminess of the brie is beautifully balanced by the crunch of toasted nuts, while their earthy, toasty flavors add depth and warmth.
Whether you choose candied pecans for sweetness, spiced almonds for a savory kick, or walnuts for a classic touch, the right nut brings contrast, seasonality, and a touch of rustic elegance to your cheeseboard.
