The Perfect Day in Yountville

Looking to enjoy a day adventuring around the Town of Yountville but don’t know where to start? No worries, we’ve got you covered! The Town itself is only a mile long. Still, it is filled with over 15 restaurants, 15 stroll-able tasting rooms, and seven nearby wineries, making Yountville the perfect stop for everyone visiting the Napa Valley. Keep reading for the ultimate insider perspective on how to enjoy this special Town, from activities like where to eat, drink, and more.

Breakfast at Mini Model

First things first, you always need some food in your bellies before venturing out to enjoy some Napa Valley wine, and there is no better way to start your day than with a famous English Muffin (Oprah’s favorite) from Mini Model. The folks at Model will toast it up and serve it to you with butter and jam for an English Muffin like no other. This fluffy, sinfully delicious treat with a handcrafted cup of coffee is our go-to in the morning but can be enjoyed any time of the day.

Biking with Napa Valley Bike Tours

If you need a way to work off that breakfast and wine before moving on to your next destination, we recommend Napa Valley Bike Tours. Their Napa Valley Wine Tasting Bike Tour allows you to enjoy the unique experience of bicycling through wine country—visiting two local wineries for tastings—and still finishing early enough to make other plans for your afternoon! Get out and experience the scenery, Yountville art, and vineyards up close while engaging all five of your senses to create memories you’ll never forget! Bread & Butter Tasting at Handwritten Wines

If you’re not quite up for a bike ride, we have two more beautiful experiences up our sleeve for you to enjoy. First is the Bread & Butter tasting at Handwritten Wines. This experience features five pre-poured wines in a side-by-side comparative format focusing on their Napa Valley hillside and mountain District Cabernet Sauvignons. The wines are accompanied with white truffle potato chips, various artisan pieces of bread and kinds of butter, delicately sliced Jamón, and a floret of P’tit Basque cheese. Similar to our Bacon & Wine Experience, this tasting is truly mouthwatering!

A Vineyard Visit at Hill Family Estate

By this point, you’re probably ready to take on a stunning view (other than our Somerston Estate) with some beautiful wines, so a visit to the vineyards at Hill Family Estate can’t be missed. While they have a Yountville tasting room near ours that is quaint and pleasant to enjoy, they also have an estate winery in the Yountville appellation surrounded by vineyards and mountain views. Here, you’ll taste an array of estate wines outdoors on their patio and learn more about their legacy as farmers in California. Located just minutes from the Town of Yountville on Solano Avenue north of Hoffman Lane, their estate is open for tastings by advance appointment only. Click here to make yours!

Movies in the Park

Then, when you’re ready to kick up your feet and enjoy some fresh air, bring your blankets, chairs, warm clothes, and flashlights to Yountville Park for a movie under the stars! Swing by a little early at 6:30 pm to enjoy dinner from local food vendors, snacks from the concession stand, and music. All concessions and a percentage of the food sales benefit local non-profits! The movie begins at dusk – and just a reminder, no pets are permitted.

No matter how you choose to enjoy your day in Yountville, we know you’ll have a beautiful day wherever you go. With award-winning restaurants, tasting rooms with outstanding wines and experiences to offer, and a lovely main street to stroll along, you’ll experience a slower-paced yet sophisticated day in the Napa Valley!
